The winning lure is [Oclastic 2]

The Galápagos Mountains

This time it was held on Christmas Eve, December 24th.

This is a report from the first round of the Tsuburo Lake Winter Bass Cup❗

The cold wave brought a sudden drop in both air and water temperatures.

Last week I was able to catch a keeper size fish using a plastic lure.

Given the circumstances, it seems possible that we might not catch any fish...

Well, let me start by telling you the results…

Wow, I actually won❗🎊😆😆🎊

All three caught were the limit at 4,670g❗

One of them was a 50cm+ plump 2kg class fish✌️

I caught a total of five that day.

All fish are [Oclastic 2 inch]

I was able to catch a fish using a certain rig❗

So how did you catch it?

I will explain in detail😆😆

What lures do you use when bass fishing in the winter?

I mainly use Metal Vibration.

I mainly used what are known as sure-fire lures.

On the day of the match, I had already decided on the points I wanted to aim for.

Without any clear core

I started with a 3.5g metal vibe.

The water temperature in the morning was about 9℃, and last week it was over 10℃.

Apparently the cold weather has changed things quite a bit.

I was catching fish with the plastic lure, but I wasn't getting any reaction from the fish...

I tried for about an hour, but the metal didn't react.

So I changed to another lure I had prepared.

That was the winning lure this time.

Used [Oclastic 2 inch]

It's microwind!

I'm sure many of you have never heard of Microwind❓️.

In other words, the lure is darted left and right.

Fishing method that turns on the fish's predation switch

This is a popular rig for sea fishing, such as for targeting swordfish.

It seems that it is just starting to become popular in the bass fishing world.

It seems that there are a lot of anglers who have introduced it to reservoirs in the Kanto region.

From the prototype stage onwards, Oclastic

I caught a lot of fish with the surface panic action.

This is one of the original features of this lure.

"Irregular dart action" winds up

I feel like it's a good fit.

Actually, when I tried it...

What?! That was crazy! (laughs)

Then I changed to microwind and cast a few times.

I caught a keeper size fish right away!

Well, I continued thinking it was a typo...

Another hit❗And it's in the 40+ kilo class❗😲😲

Huh!? Are you addicted? (lol)

I was convinced when I caught a keeper size fish next 👍️

I'm totally hooked on microwinding ⤴️😆😆

And the last fish I caught was the biggest of the day.

It was 50 up❗

In the end, I ended up with a total of 5 microwinds!

At the same point where there had been no reaction until then

I was able to experience a series of dramatic events that I didn't expect to see in the middle of winter.

It's very easy to use❗

Cast it and let the first fall free.

Once it hits the bottom, jerk it twice and let it curve fall.

This is repeated.

Most of the bites come right after the bait hits the bottom.

It's either the next jerk or it's heavy (lol)❗

The key to the action is not to jerk too hard.

If you do the action in a visible place, you can see it clearly.

Even if you just give it a light tinkle, it will dart easily.

If you push it too hard, the distance between you and the fish will increase dramatically.

I think it is not suitable for bass that are weak at chasing during low water temperatures.

And next, the most important thing in this fishing is

I will explain how to set the lure👍️

[Oclastic 2 inch] has a top and bottom.

When using it on the surface with no sinker, set the hook with the flat side facing up.

For microwinds, place the pointed end (the curved side) facing up.

This allows the lure to drain water better and produce a crisp darting action!

And another key point of the setting is

The line should be tied directly to the eye.

When you attach a snap, the number of contact points increases, so the power of the rod action is not transmitted properly.

It becomes harder to dart cleanly.

When I set it up like this,

Easily move left and right with just a little force

You can get a beautiful dart action👍️

Finally, for your reference, here are my recommended tackles.

We recommend a rod with a slightly soft tip and firm belly and butt.

I love Road Runner's mid-stroke rods 😊😊

If possible, use PE line of about 0.6.

A 5lb fluoro leader is a good balance👍️

And as for the all-important jig head, a commercially available item for dirt fishing is a must❗

Basically, it's just a repurposed saltwater bottle.

I like to use Issei's "Flying Shrimp Head"❗

I made the worm keeper myself (lol)

Please try out different settings and find your own!

Irregular darting action that attracts big fish even in the tough winter season

The lure power of the Oclastic 2 inch

Microwind is more of a reaction element.

I think it's a strong factor in turning on the bass' predator switch❗

Therefore, you can catch fish repeatedly in the same area without catching them.

This is the reliable lure that led me to victory👍️

I am still learning and experimenting with this type of fishing.

I want to continue fishing and open new doors.

Please give it a try this coming winter season!

Thank you for reading to the end.
